QUEENS, N.Y. - Last night's 1-0 win over the Mets helped the Phillies avert their worst start to a season since 1934 when the club began the year 0-7.

Phillies' starter Jeremy Hellickson surrendered one unearned run and struck out six over six walk-free innings against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday in the season opener. He left with a 2-1 lead and was staring at a win until the spit hit the fan and the Phillies’ bullpen imploded in the eighth inning.

Trouble at the plate
The Phillies enter Sunday with the worst team BB% in baseball at 4%. Compounding matters, their K% of 26.9% is the fourth worst.

Today's Phillies lineup
1. Freddy Galvis, 6
2. Cesar Hernandez, 4
3. Odubel Herrera, 8
4. Maikel Franco, 5
5. Ryan Howard, 3
6. Carlos Ruiz, 2
7. Cedric Hunter, 7
8. Peter Bourjos, 9
9. Jeremy Hellickson, 1
