Philly College Baseball Weekend Preview: Feb. 19 - 21

Villanova (Big East, 0-0) vs. #12 Houston (American, 0-0)
Head coach Joe Godri opens his 15th season at the helm when the Wildcats open a three-game set against Houston on Friday night ... Dating back to 2002, Villanova has opened the season with a three-game series against a nationally-ranked team four times. The most recent occasion was in 2012 when the Wildcats opened up with No. 4 Arkansas. Other series of the same nature came against No. 3 Tulane in 2002, No. 18 Michigan in 2008 and No. 1 Louisiana State in 2009.

La Salle (Atlantic 10, 0-0) vs. Winthrop (Big South, 0-0)
The Explorers open the season with a four-game series in Rock Hill, South Carolina against Winthrop ... La Salle is trotting out four experienced hurlers for the weekend with Joey Ravert, Luke Reilly, Jared Mattera and Jorge Jiminez all scheduled to start. The four comined to make 24 starts last season ... Ravert was selected to the A-10 All-Conference First Team as a DH last season after hitting .338 with 11 homers and 44 RBI's last season.
