PHILADELPHIA - The Phillies placed reliever Jeff Manship on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday with a strained right quad and optioned Darin Ruf to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
To replace Manship and Ruf on the 25-man roster the club recalled right-hander Phillippe Aumont and selected the contract of lefty Cesar Jimenez.
The create a slot on the 40-man roster reliever Jeremy Horst was designated for assignment.
Aumont has a 4.12 ERA over 18 appearances with the IronPigs to go along with a 1.58 WHIP and a 1.24 K/BB ratio. He pitched in 22 contests with the Phillies last season. As for Jimenez, he's posted a 1.67 ERA over 27 innings with Lehigh Valley.
Both pitchers are available for Sunday's game against the Mets.
The moves come after a pair of 14 inning contests where the bullpen has pitched a combined 15 innings while surrendering just one run on six hits.
