The Philadelphia Baseball Review
will celebrate the history of Negro
baseball throughout February by
unveiling an All-Time roster
comprised of black ballplayers
that stared in Philadelphia.
These players deserve to be
honored for their contributions to the
game.
Rube Foster
spent parts of five
seasons with clubs
based in Philly and
won championships in 1903 and
1904. One of the top pitchers of his
era, the menacing righthander was
elected to the Hall of Fame in 1981.

in Philadelphia the Philadelphia Baseball
Review strives to highlight the greatest
baseball stories to have impacted the
Philadelphia area.
Foster set a record with 18 strikeouts
and contributed a triple en route to a
Philadelphia Giants 8-4 win over the
Cuban X-Giants in Game One of the
1904 Negro Championship.

Louis Santop was elected to the Baseball
Hall of Fame in 2006.
