John Lannan makes his regular season Phillies debut tonight as the club hosts the Kansas City Royals for the second of a three-game set.

The Royals collected 19 hits yesterday and clobbered the Phillies 13-4. 

Pitching Matchup: John Lannan in 2012 (4.70 xFIP, 1.21 K/BB, 1.44 WHIP) vs. Luis Mendoza in 2012 (4.36 xFIP, 1.76 K/BB, 1.42 WHIP).

Weather: 52-degrees with sun.

Royals Notes: Billy Butler was held out of the Royals' lineup on Friday, but will start tonight at first base ... Jeff Francoeur is a career 13-for-25 against Lannan with home run and four doubles ... Mendoza was named MVP of the Caribbean Series and beat out former Phillie Bruce Chen for the Royals final rotation spot.
